Free video tool
Your browser doubles your video's width and height and sharpens it on your own graphics chip. The video is not uploaded, and there is no watermark and no account. The sound is copied as it is, or converted where MP4 players could not play it, and the page says which.

It is enlarged in your browser. The video is not uploaded.
MP4 or WebM, up to 1920 x 1080, 60 frames a second and 30 minutes.
Adds contrast along edges after the enlargement. It can draw bright or dark lines along strong edges and make grain more visible, so preview a frame before you choose it.
Off smooths grain and noise away as it enlarges. Some and Most keep more of the picture's fine texture and grain. Preview a frame to compare.
Strong, slow draws four times the width and height, then shrinks that to 2x. 4x keeps all of it, for videos up to 960 x 540 either way up, so the new file is at most 3840 x 2160.
Enhancement invents detail that was not filmed, and an enhanced video is not evidence of what was recorded.
After signing up, import the video into the editor: it repairs the whole soundtrack and exports the video with its picture kept.
Then import the video into the editor. Scans and short repairs are free.
How it works
Chrome and Edge can run a neural network on your graphics chip and write video themselves, so enlarging needs no upload. The quick check that follows is a browser copy of the scan Solipsium's editor runs.
An MP4 or WebM file up to 1920 x 1080 either way up and 30 minutes long. This page is for your own videos: there is no box for a link.
A neural network doubles the width and height of every frame and sharpens edges and fine texture. Preview one frame first to compare it with a plain enlargement.
The new MP4 keeps the original sound packet for packet, with no new compression. Sound MP4 players could not play that way (Vorbis, or old u-law or 8-bit sound) is converted instead. The page says when the sound was converted, and when it could not be kept.
The quick check listens to the first five minutes for clipping, dropouts, hum, background noise and muffled sound. You can then hear its first 20 seconds repaired, with no account. Solipsium's free try is built for speech.
Questions
No. Your browser reads the video, your graphics chip enlarges each frame, and the new file is written on your device. Only if you press Repair the first 20 seconds does any sound go to Solipsium, never the picture, and Solipsium keeps only its first 20 seconds and deletes them within an hour.
It doubles the width and height of every frame, or with Strong, slow's 4x makes a small video four times as wide and tall, and sharpens the picture with a neural network. Enhancement invents detail that was not filmed, and an enhanced video is not evidence of what was recorded. Faces, writing and number plates can come out looking unlike the real thing.
Chrome and Edge on a desktop or laptop whose graphics chip supports WebGPU. A browser that cannot do it says so as soon as this page opens, and can still check the sound.
Up to 1920 x 1080 either way up, 60 frames a second and 30 minutes, in ordinary 8-bit colour. Doubling anything larger is more than a browser's video encoder takes. In Chrome and Edge the new video is written straight into a file you choose; a browser that cannot do that keeps it in its storage for this site, or in its memory, which holds about 200 MB.
Filmed uses networks tuned on filmed clips. Quick, Balanced and Most detail are three small networks; a larger one takes longer and needs more of your graphics chip's memory. Strong, slow runs Real-ESRGAN's general network, which is far larger. It takes much longer, needs a strong graphics card and takes videos up to 1280 x 720 either way up. With Strong, slow you can also choose how much grain to keep, and for videos up to 960 x 540 either way up it can make the picture four times as wide and tall. Animation uses one network, tuned on drawn pictures with clean lines.
It is copied into the new video as it is, unless MP4 players could not play it that way: then it is converted, and the page says so. Solipsium then checks its first five minutes in your browser and offers to repair the first 20 seconds, free and with no account. With a free account, the editor repairs the whole soundtrack and exports the video with its picture kept, for videos up to 1 GB and 30 minutes. An enlarged copy can pass that 1 GB, so repair the sound in the editor first, then enlarge the video it exports here.
Solipsium works on voicemails, voice memos, answering machine tapes and camcorder audio.
The check and the 20-second try need no account.
