Choose where your video should start and end, and your browser writes the part between as an MP4. A quick cut copies the picture from the keyframe at or before your start; an exact cut re-encodes it and begins on your frame.

How it works
Your browser reads the video and writes the part you keep as an MP4. In Chrome and Edge it goes straight into a file you choose; another browser keeps it in its storage for this site, or in its memory, which holds about 200 MB, and offers it as a download.

Drag the two handles or type the times to a tenth of a second, such as 1:05.5. The frame at each handle appears above them when your browser can decode the picture.
A video is stored as keyframes, which are whole pictures, and the changes between them, so a copy can only begin at a keyframe. A quick cut copies the picture packet for packet from the keyframe at or before your start, and the page says how far before your start that is.
It decodes the picture and encodes it again, so the cut begins on your frame. It takes longer than a quick cut.
Questions
A quick cut can only begin at a keyframe, and the nearest one may come before your start. The page marks your start in the file: a player that reads the mark begins there, and one that does not shows the extra seconds. For a cut that begins on your frame in any player, choose Exact cut.
No. The picture's packets are copied as they were, and so is AAC, Opus or MP3 sound. Vorbis from a WebM and a camera's PCM are converted to AAC or Opus, and the page says so before you cut.
It is encoded again as H.264 at the setting this site's video enhancer uses. Any re-encode loses a little detail. Where your browser has no H.264 encoder, the cut is written as VP9 in MP4.
This page keeps one part, from your start to your end. To keep two parts, cut the video twice.
A quick cut takes a video of any length, up to a 10 GB file. An exact cut keeps up to 30 minutes, from a video up to 1920 x 1080 either way up and 60 frames a second, in ordinary 8-bit colour.
No. Your browser reads the video and writes the cut on your device, and this page sends nothing from it to Solipsium.
Solipsium works on voicemails, voice memos, answering machine tapes and camcorder audio.
The check and the 20-second try need no account.
