Loop a recording, or a part of it, back to back.

Choose the part, how many times it plays and how long each join crossfades. Your browser builds the loop and saves it. Nothing is uploaded.

The joins

A loop without a click.

Where the end of one copy meets the start of the next, the wave can jump, and a jump is a click.

A short crossfade.

Each join fades the end out while the next start fades in, over the time you set. A few hundredths of a second hides a click.

Equal power.

Both fades follow an equal power curve, so the level holds through the join.

Shorter by each join.

The crossfades overlap the copies, so the loop is a little shorter than the part times the count.

How it works

Choose the part, then the count.

The loop is built from the part between the start and the end you type.

  1. Mark the part.

Type its start and end in seconds; an end of 0 runs to the end of the recording.

  2. Set the count and the crossfade.

From 2 to 50 times, up to 30 minutes in all; a crossfade of up to 2 seconds, and never more than half the part.

  3. Save it.

As an MP3 at 192 kbps or a 16-bit WAV.

Questions

About loops.

Can it loop to a set length?

Set the count: the result shows its length, and the tool refuses anything over 30 minutes.

A loop for a ringtone?

The ringtone maker cuts up to 30 seconds into an MP3 or M4R with the steps to set it.

Should the crossfade be 0?

For a part cut exactly on the beat with no click, it can be. Listen to the join first.

Fade the end of the loop?

Add a fade out to the result with fade in and fade out.

Is my recording uploaded?

No. Your browser opens the file and does the work on this device; nothing is sent to Solipsium. Checking a recording for noise, hum and clipping is another page: the home page checks it in your browser too.
