Choose a recording and a still picture, and your browser writes an MP4 that shows the picture for as long as the sound lasts. The picture is fitted to 1280 x 720 or 1920 x 1080.

Making the video.
How it works
The picture is drawn once on a canvas in your browser, and your browser's own video encoder turns that canvas into frames.
It is decoded at 48 kHz on your device, and more than two channels are folded to stereo.
The page draws it at the size you choose and shows the frame before you make the video, so you can change the fit or the background colour first.
One frame a second shows the picture until the sound ends. The picture is encoded as H.264, or VP9 where the browser has no H.264 encoder. The sound is encoded as AAC at 192 kbps, or Opus where there is no AAC encoder.
Questions
This page makes H.264 video with AAC sound in an MP4 wherever the browser has both encoders. Check the form's own rules for format, length and size.
The sound takes about 1.4 MB a minute at 192 kbps. The picture adds a full frame every 10 seconds, and the frames between only repeat it. The page shows the size once the video is made.
Any picture your browser opens. JPEG, PNG and WebP open in every current browser.
Yes. Sound wave art draws a recording's waveform and saves it as a PNG, which you can then choose here.
The page uses them when this browser has no AAC or H.264 encoder, and says so under the finished video. Some players and upload forms refuse Opus or VP9 in an MP4, so a browser with both encoders is the safer choice for an upload.
No. Your browser opens the recording and the picture, writes the video and saves it on your device. This page sends nothing from the recording or the picture to Solipsium, not even their names.
Solipsium works on voicemails, voice memos, answering machine tapes and camcorder audio.
The check and the 20-second try need no account.
