Your recordings
It handles a parent's voicemail, an answering machine tape or a camcorder interview the same way.
iPhone voicemails and voice memos save as M4A, and many Android phones save AMR or 3GP. Solipsium opens all of them, as well as the WAV and MP3 files a tape transfer service sends back.
Solipsium first checks the recording for hum, clipping, dropouts and muffled sound. You pick the seconds to repair, compare them with the original and decide how much of the change to keep.
Cleanup lowers noise and never writes new words. When the scan finds the narrow sound of a phone line, or of a file saved at 16 kHz, Suggested repair can rebuild the treble without a GPU. On the hosted site's GPU, AudioSR can rebuild missing high frequencies in a passage of up to 60 seconds. Both label what they add as inferred sound, and a filled dropout is labelled as an estimate. What changed shows any moment where a repair added or removed sound, so you can listen there first.
If you have a whole box of tapes, or run a shop that transfers them, Solipsium for teams describes the pilots for shops and archives.
On an iPhone, open the voicemail, tap Share and save it to Files; it arrives as an M4A file. On Android, most phone and voicemail apps offer Save or Share, often as AMR, 3GP or M4A. Then drop the file on this page or choose it in the editor.
No. It can make a voice easier to hear by lowering noise, removing hum and rebuilding clipped peaks. Suggested repair can also rebuild the treble of phone-line sound, and on a GPU AudioSR can infer missing high frequencies; both are labelled as inferred. Gaps of digital silence up to a tenth of a second can be filled from the sound on either side, and the fill is labelled as an estimate. Longer gaps cannot be brought back, and the scan shows where they are.
The quick check on this page stays in your browser. Pressing Repair the first 20 seconds sends those 20 seconds to the server, or the whole file when your browser cannot open it. The upload is deleted at once, and the 20 seconds and their repair within an hour; a try is never used for anything else. Editor imports are uploaded to Solipsium's server and restricted to your account. Solipsium does not train models on your recordings. Where the server runs, usage analytics and deletion limits are explained in the privacy notice. Keep your own originals and upload only media you have permission to process.
Not to try it. Drop a recording on this page: the check runs in your browser, and you can hear its first 20 seconds repaired with no account. To repair a whole recording and keep your repairs, make a free account, with no card. In any 24 hours a free account can import 10 recordings, make 30 new repairs and export 30 times, and its library holds 20 recordings. Your recordings, saved repairs and downloads are private to your account.
